scars

I have scars.....a lot of scars....but they tell a story. I have always said scars add character.
Well my sweet sister-in-law who I am blessed to call one of my best friends sent me a card with this BEAUTIFUL excerpt from the book Little Bee. Thank you Stacy for this reminder.....I love you and am so thankful you are such a huge part of my world.
Now remember all of you....your scars tell your story, they add strength - they are a part of you....Someone once told me after my accident when I was MUCH MORE sensitive about my scars that it was like I had my own design and pattern to my skin...I have never forgotten that. Hope this helps some of you......xo

Owls & Ivey Handcrafted

I think I have a thing for owls....and apparently my customers do too :)

First I give you cutie pie Jack Henry's Owl Suite :)
Next I have Tegan's hoodie - I loved making this and incorporating fabric into my designs.
This is for my sweet Becca's new baby girl who will be here any day! Looks like I am going to need to make one for her big brother who has seemed to fallen in love with this one.
And lastly this awesome new shirt for Elleson - this might be my favorite new item I have made....it makes me smile!
Any Owl items you need?

Our Newest Family Member

Meet Olive....our newest fur baby.

We have had quite the rough weeks around here. We actually had our 4th Adoption fall through in 6 years of trying. This one was extra tough because the baby was born July 25th. We are just so thankful we decided to not meet him until the DNA test were done. In time the DNA test showed the father and he decided he wanted to parent. It breaks our heart for us and for the babies birth mother who was trying to do the right thing by giving her baby a better life. But she is going to parent now and try to start college this fall. What an amazing young lady.....I still love her for the gift she was going to give us- I just pray she has a wonderful life.

For now.....we are done. We have said this before when we had a failed adoption....but after 4 we aren't sure if/when we will try again. So please respect that decision and pray for peace in our hearts. We shall see what the future holds.

Until then we had been talking about getting a puppy and decided to go for it. She is JUST what we needed. She brings smiles and happiness into our home and that is exactly what we wanted.

More pics to come - we just wanted to introduce our newest fur baby.

xo
Thanks for all your support!

Night Owl Paper Goods

I stumbled upon Night Owl Paper Goods once upon a time and kept keeping them in mind when I wanted a special card. Last week I thought I would check it out when I saw on facebook that they had a lot of sale items. I thought what better way to find more about this cute little company by buying some sale items. And boy was I happy when I got my beautifully wrapped package today. Oh I will DEFINITELY be back. Now go check out their beautiful eco-friendly letterpress and wood cards, gifts and stationery - they even do custom. And you can print your own design on wood. Shut your mouth cute!

You can find them here or join their facebook page for specials

Quite a yucky time in my life....but I am so thankful for my husband....I couldn't do it without him. I am so thankful for my friends and family. No matter how crappy life is.....I am a lucky girl for having all of them in my world. Sorry I am not around much in the blog world - hope you understand. xo
